5 nano degree courses to make you employable

In an effort to increase the employability of engineering students, an Indian state government has joined hands with Udacity for its nano degree courses. The US-based e-learning platform has certain skill development programs that can help students grab tech jobs.

The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has reportedly signed a MoU to facilitate skill development program for students. K. Sambasiva Rao, the MD and CEO fo APSSDC said, “The Nanodegree programmes will benefit the students by making them job ready. The APSSDC is encouraging the students to pursue these programmes by providing mentors in the colleges to guide the students and also bearing part of the course fee. A pilot programme with a target of 1,000 has been launched and we are hopeful to meet the target by March 2018.”

The nano degree courses will help students learn the world-class content developed by companies like Google, Amazon, AT&T, and Kaggle. These programs will include online tutorials, industry-relevant projects, mentorship, exams, and certifications. Udacity will reach thousands of Indian students with this partnership. Here are the five nano degree courses that are will be offered to students:

1. Android Developer

The nano degree program is designed to help students become a professional android developer. The six-months long course is designed by Google. Udacity has divided the course into two parts. Developer-I includes building cloud-connected apps, making your apps responsive, and integrating rich-media into your apps. Developer-II includes learning advanced Android development concepts, using material design elements, and build Capstone Project.

2. Machine Learning Engineer 

The course is designed to help you learn how to develop predictive models. The curriculum for the course is developed by Kaggle. The six-month course is divided into two parts: Basic will help you learn concepts of supervised learning and unsupervised learning while the Advanced will focus on concepts of Reinforcement Learning and Deep Learning.

3. Front End Web Developer

The course will help you become a professional front-end developer. The two parts of the course are Developer 1: to learn fundamental languages that power websites. Developer 2: to learn advanced front-end skills like jQuery, Angular, ES6, Ember, test-driven development and integration of APIs.

4. Intro to Programming

This is a basic programming education course designed for beginners. The 3-months course includes tutorials, practice assignments, and tests. Students signing up for this course need not have any coding experience. The course is the first step towards careers in Web and App Development, Machine Learning, Data Science, AI, and more.

5. Full Stack Web Developer

This course by Udacity is designed to help you become a full stack web developer. Companies like Google, GitHub, AWS, and AT&T have collaborated in the creation of the curriculum for this course. The course is divided into two parts. Developer I includes HTML/CSS, Responsive design, Flask framework, and SQL databases. While Developer II includes building Fullstack foundations, learn AJAX, and configure Linux web servers.
